Closing Bell: SP500 +1,23 %

The market showed strength ahead of tonight's presidential election, with the S&P 500 advancing +1.23% to close at 5782.76. The automotive and aerospace sectors led gains, while the casino and betting sectors lagged, dropping -3.23%. Timken released its quarterly report, posting earnings per share (EPS) of $1.23, below the expected $1.38. The stock plunged, losing -12.92%.
